Dr. D R Sekhar serves as a Senior Consultant in the Department of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery at United Hospitals. He has worked with various eminent and renowned hospitals in Bangalore and medical colleges in India. He is the Founder Secretary of Mysore Surgical Society. He has organized free cleft lip and palate camps and conducted surgeries on patients and have performed about 2320 Cleft lips and 1510 Cleft Palate surgeries from 1976 to year 2000. He is the former Executive Member of  Bangalore Surgical Society and Treasurer Burns Association of India Karnataka State Chapter. He have scientific publication in the international journal On Burns. Dr.Sekhar was a postgraduate faculty and examiner, MCh (Plastic) for Bangalore, Kerala and Madurai Universities.  He has been  invited as guest speaker on various topics of plastic surgery in many academic meetings.
